Temperature is one piece of information
A water-based underfloor system may heat unevenly for reasons involving controls, flow or balancing. A cool area alone does not establish that a pipe is damaged. Pressure behaviour and moisture evidence provide a different part of the picture.
The manifold helps explain the system
The manifold arrangement and any installation drawings show how loops relate to the rooms. Access to this area may make useful isolation possible. Tell the engineer what you know; there is no need to operate unfamiliar valves yourself.
Let the evidence choose the next step
If findings support a concealed leak, suitable tracing helps plan access to the affected plumbing. Electrical underfloor heating requires a different specialist. The visit should begin with an understanding of which type of system is installed.
